On Friday, Feb. 24, Lifeline Afghanistan and the Diversity Institute hosted a panel discussion to share how rewarding it can be to participate in the the Private Sponsorship of Refugees (PSR) program and help a newcomer resettle. It also outlined how those interested in helping out can do so—and it doesn’t have to be by being a private sponsor.

Lifeline Afghanistan came to fruition in response to the crises that emerged in August 2021, and we have leveraged this stream to support numerous Afghan refugees with their resettlement to Canada. Through the PSR program, community organizations, groups of friends, neighbours and colleagues have answered the call for help and banded together to make a real difference. Their efforts have changed lives across the country.
